LINDEN — John M. Royer, 76, retired Montgomery County farmer, was found dead in bed by his wife at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday. He had been in failing health two years. Born Sept. 11, 1881, in Montgomery County, Mr. Royer was the son of Francis and Nancy Blue Royer. He married Nellie Shipman at Crawfordsville, March 5, 1907. Mr. Royer, who had engaged in farming most of his life, retired two years ago. Since then he had been associated with his sons in the hardware business at Linden. Survivors include the widow; three sons, William and Robert Royer, both of Linden, and Fred Royer of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Edgar Scott of Arcadia, and Mrs. Evelyn Dunbar of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Stull of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Maude Lyons of New Richmond; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
